Instead of resetting this every few days, is there a way to permanently set invoices pdfs to attach to emails (since I don't take online payments)?

Hello heresyoursignltd,

 

It's nice to see you reaching out to Community.  I can understand the time saving benefit of being able to set PDF attachments to your emails. QuickBooks Online provides this option in a couple of areas. Allow me to share additional insights to accomplish sending PDF attachments to your customer's invoice.

 

The first area is in your Account and Settings. Follow these steps, so all of the information in your sales entry will show up on your customer's email.

 

1. Open your Settings ⚙, then Account and Settings

2. Select the Sales tab

3. Click on the Edit  in the Online delivery section

4. Checkmark the box to Show full details in email

5. Make sure to put a checkmark on the PDF Attached box

6. Select Online invoice for Additional email option for invoices

Hit on Save.

 

Next, let's make sure that the specific invoice template you're using is also set to attach your invoice as a PDF. Here's how:

 

1. From your Settings ⚙, select Custom form styles

2. Click Edit in the Action column for your template

3. Open the Emails tab

4. Under How your invoice appears in the emails section, mark Full details and the PDF Attached box 

5. When ready, hit Done

Once completed, you can try creating a sample invoice and send it to your personal email.

 

In addition, if you suspect there may have been changes to this preference, I suggest checking the Audit log. This is where you can see who made changes to your books and what entries or adjustments they made.

 

Here's how;

 

1. Go to Settings and then select Audit Log

2. Choose Filter

3.Use the fields on the filter panel to choose the Date, or Events filter to narrow the results

4. Click on Apply.
