Resolve error 15XXX when downloading QuickBooks Desktop updates
Incorrect configuration of Microsoft Internet Explorer may cause error when downloading and installing QuickBooks Desktop updates. To protect your computer and its contents, QuickBooks attempts to verify the digital signature of all files downloaded through the program. If QuickBooks is unable to verify the digital signature of a file, one of these errors will occur.

Important
- Make sure to install the latest version of Internet Explorer from Microsoft Download Center
- If you currently have the latest version of IE installed, or you continue receiving the error after following the steps in this article, you need to consult an IT professional or Microsoft.
Solution 1: Perform a Clean Install
Clean install QuickBooks Desktop
Solution 2: Edit Internet Explorer options:
- Open Internet Explorer
- Click the gear icon ans select Internet Options.
- Click Security tab and select Trusted sites.
- Click Site and add the following websites.
- if using a US version of QuickBooks:
- *.quickbooks.com
- *.intuit.com
- if using a Canadian version of QuickBooks:
- *.quickbooks.ca
- *.intuit.ca
- if using a US version of QuickBooks:
- Click Close
- Click Apply and OK
Solution 3: Update Microsoft Security Certificate
Expired Windows Security Certificate may cause this issue.. To fix this, run Windows Update or download an updated certificate from Microsoft.
