Hello dwright5528,
If you recently updated your username or password on your financial institution's account, you also need to do the same in your QuickBooks online account. That's the reason you get this message when downloading bank transactions.
Please follow these steps on how to update login credentials:
- From the left menu, select Banking.
- On the Banking page, select Update. QuickBooks Online tries to connect to your bank to manually update your account.
- If Error 103 appears, select the Reconnect my account link and enter your new username or password. If no error, select the Edit (pencil) icon next to the bank name, select Edit sign-in info, and enter your updated bank website username or user ID and password.
- Select Save and connect.
- Once you see a confirmation message, select I'm done, Let's go!
Then, try to click on the Update button again to see the new bank transactions.
Let us know if you need anything else.

Hello, Sue928. Appreciate you for joining here and letting me know that you've been experiencing this kind of behavior sometimes.
First, I'd like to confirm the product you're using. Is it QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop? Also, what's the name of your financial institution or bank, as well as the exact error message you've got? This would help me check my available resources here and be able to share with you the right amount of information.
Since the unusual behavior happen sometimes, probably, this is a browser-related issue. If you haven't tried the steps below, you can follow them if you're still facing that kind of odd behavior.
Step 1: Use an incognito window:
It's a way to check issues caused by a full cache.
Step 2: Delete cache and temporary internet files:
If it works, you can clear cache and temporary internet files to optimize the browser's performance. It will also help delete the information stored in the cache. Another way is to use compatible browsers with QuickBooks Online.
You can refer to the articles below for additional information:
- Learn the reconcile workflow in QuickBooks. It includes steps to fix balance issues and ways to modify completed reconciliations.
- Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Just in case you're using QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), you can try to run the Verify and Rebuild Data within your company file. This resolves common issues in QBDT.
Please let me know if these steps work for you. If you still need help with this matter or have any other concerns related to QuickBooks, please don't hesitate to tap me on my shoulder. I'd be glad to help you more. Take care and have a good one, Sue928.
