Hence I thought of an idea — that of automating these processes and to send alerts to the users whenever the status changed. MyPNR thus was launched on 20th February 2012 with only one feature that is “PNR Status Alert” and slowly I expanded it to “Seat Availability Alert” and “Train running Status Alert” says Vishal proudly.
When we asked him what else made you start MyPNR, he promptly replied, “I have been very enthusiastic towards creativity since my college days and love to innovate and dream. MyPNR is the result of it.” All it takes then is an idea, creativity, focus and perseverance. Read on to find out what more Vishal has to say about his young, maiden venture.
What has been the key to your business’s success?
Constantly listening to the users and adding new features has been our plus point till date. Our users give ideas and feedback on the website. I take them as a first priority and implement it as soon as possible. Well, I will definitely not say it as a successful business yet. This website has to go a way long for a success milestone.
What are the major challenges in your line of business and how did/do you overcome them?
It takes a lot of effort to handle this website alone. I have to code, design, publicize all by myself. It’s really hard to carve out time left apart from 9-5 office hours and other activities. This website has a very little earning or I would say no earning considering the money that I am investing in it. I am looking for advertisers and financers that will help me in expansion and monetizing this website.
Do you have a mentor who guides/advices you on matters of the business?
My users are my mentor’s. They give wonderful feedback that inspires me to do more and more. I constantly take advice from my friends, colleagues and my girl friend about what can be done more in this field. They help me in clearing my technical doubt and provide me the user’s perspective. However, I still need a mentor who can guide me in taking this start-up to a right direction and to Success.
Have you benefited from the use of any specific technology for your regular operations?
The use of Open Source and Free services helped me to overcome the cost. I selected JAVA as the development language and am using advanced technology like Hibernate, REST services that helped the website to scale itself.
What strategy do you follow for Customer Satisfaction & Expansion?
I take Customer’s satisfaction on top of my list. Instant reply to user mails and providing the solution are most welcomed by the users. I have planned a road map for this website that includes–
• Developing Android Application
• Launching Mobile Website for mobile users
• Adding New Features I am also spending time on social-media publicity and Search engine optimization that will help to grow the user base.
