We chat with the founders about the venture. An Excerpt from the Interview:
- What made you start your venture?
Jammu & Kashmir is famous for snow, saffron, walnuts and dry fruits. I always wondered why people are so curious about saffron and other dry fruits, when these are easily available. It wasn’t until I was in Bangalore for my education that I realised their true value. I always wanted to be an entrepreneur and am from an entrepreneurial family in Jammu. We thought of starting with just two products -Saffron and Walnuts which has enormous health benefits and preventive cure for many lethal diseases. The idea and vision was very clear – bringing healthy values for families across nation to build a healthy India.
- What has been the key to your business’s success?
While dealing with the customers we place ourselves in their shoes and try our best to provide them exceptional service and quality of products. Customer satisfaction has always been our mission and we strive to continue with the same zeal and energy.
- What are the major challenges in your line of business and how did/do you overcome them?
The major difficulty was procurement through organic, healthy channels and delivery partners. Any company can survive if there is cash credit given for a period to roll over the sales and purchases. Initially nobody wanted to trust us. Today we go work on nearly 1 month credit for lakhs with one simple commitment that nobody needs to follow up for payment.
- Do you have a mentor who guides/advices you on matters of the business?
We at PureMart learn from every little thing that happens around us. We do take in consideration the opinion of the team while taking decisions. Our Mentor is Amit Grover, Founder- Nurture Talent
- Have you benefitted from the use of any specific technology for your regular operations?
Yes, we have created special bond with our customer through Zopim Interactive Web tool and we use Asana and Slack for In-house management. I recommend these apps to everyone in start-up journey.
- What strategy do you follow for Customer Satisfaction & Expansion?
We started with personal feedback calls initially and this has helped tremendously to create a family-like bond with our customers. Our PureCash points policy helps customers to leverage the benefits and earn every time they order with us and because of this they purchase for their loved ones as well. We also have robust feedback in-built mechanism where each feedback shared make them hero as we display their name on Website.
