Client’s E-file session

Possibly you Pressed OK before Printing Confirmation or Forgot to Print.

Go To where you have My Profile Data:

C:\Users\User Name\Documents\MY PROFILE DATA\EFILE\2020 T1

Any Tax year in Question you have in Profile’s database.

Looks like Database gibberish at first.

Shows data like .eml files transmitted to C.R.A.

You will find approximately mid-way down page.

A complete statement Stating Client’s Name has been successfully Received by CRA with Confirmation & DCN Numbers

Select SIN Number of Client(s)

Any Tax year in Question you have in Profile’s database.

I followed your instructions to find out my client’s (JOHN SMITH) confirmation notice using his SIN (XXXXXXXXX).

 

  • There were 3 files with the client’s SIN.
  • I opened the “XXXXXXXXX_response.xml” file.
  • Then in the middle was the following message:

 

“<t1rsp:MessageText xml:lang="en">The 2020 tax return for JOHN SMITH has been successfully received and has been processed by the Canada Revenue Agency. The same selection criteria for verifying income tax returns are used for both paper and electronic versions. Your client needs to keep all tax information slips and documents for six years after you filed the tax return. Please keep this confirmation number and DCN for your records: [the DCN number follows]</t1rsp:MessageText>”
