Download QuickBooks Desktop

To download your version of QuickBooks Desktop, go to the Downloads & Updates page to get the download link specific to your product.

Find your license and product numbers

You'll need your license and product numbers to install QuickBooks Desktop. Here's where to find them based on how you purchased the software:

• If you subscribe to a monthly or annual product subscription: You should have received an email with your QuickBooks Desktop license number and product code. If you haven't received this email, check your junk mail folder.
• If you bought QuickBooks from our website and downloaded it: The license number and product code are in the confirmation email.
• If you bought QuickBooks Desktop from a retail outlet (Pre-2022):  The numbers are located on the inside panel of the CD folder.

Updating vs. Downloading

If you already have QuickBooks Desktop installed and only need to install the latest updates, you don't need to download the full software again. Instead, learn how to Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.

Downloading older or discontinued versions

QuickBooks Desktop versions from previous years may not be available for download. Older software isn't guaranteed to run on newer operating systems and isn't supported.

Intuit's discontinuation plan:

• Discontinued products cannot be registered for the first time.
• You can re-register a discontinued product if it was registered previously and you are reinstalling it.
• While assisted support is unavailable for discontinued products, you can contact us to request a validation code if needed to register again.
