I have a customer who is married and lives in Canada but his child resides outside canada, My question is, how can I put the child as non-resident.
If the child qualifies as a dependent under the Income Tax Act (financially supported, etc. etc.), then you put them on the "Dependant information" screen as normal, but also put their address and there is a field that says "Province of residence on 2022/12/31". Select non-resident in the drop-down box. Make sure it also says "Yes" in the "Claim as eligible dependant?".

To make sure we're both on the same page, are you looking to add the child as a user on the account? If so, I encourage you to check out the following article that shows you how to: Add and manage users in QuickBooks Online.
Let me know if this info helps you achieve your goal. Otherwise, you're more than welcome to reach back to me in the comments below. I've got your back.
