Blank pages when printing transactions from QuickBooks Online
by Intuit•2• Updated 3 months ago
Some customers report an issue where blank pages are being printed from QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Online Payroll when using Mac OS.
The issue is caused by a recent OS update (Sonoma) by Apple and the subseqent removal of a certain framework of support necessary for PDF sto render correctly. This is impacting printing of PDFs having characters and/or fonts that rely on those frameworks.
Printing from PDF
- Download the PDF to your Mac from QuickBooks Online.
- Open the PDF using Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Print the PDF from Adobe Acrobat Reader.
An update on the current situation from Intuit's product developers
- This issue isn't specific to QuickBooks Online. It's occurring in other apps that generate their own PDFs and hence we're unable to address the issue as it's Mac OS dependent.
- The issue is occuring to only those who have upgraded to MacOS Sonoma recently.
- The issue is occuring only when printing a document using the Mac Preview application. This is the default application that opens when you select "Print" in QuickBooks Online.
- There are early indications that Apple is going to address this in upcoming MacOS updates. Unfortunately, we don't have direct visibility into this Apple process. Â
