Eligibility criteria

For all products, the following conditions are not covered under Intuit’s refund policy:

  • Technical issues, such as loss of a product feature like bank connections
  • Loss of data
  • Power outages
  • Loss of business and/or revenue
  • Lack of usage and/or activity (i.e. if you aren’t using the product)
For QuickBooks Online Payroll or Desktop Payroll Products, the Per Employee fees are not eligible for a refund. For more information visit sections 8 and 9 of our Intuit Terms of Service.

Refund policy 60-day money back guarantee

In most cases, if you purchased an annual subscription for QuickBooks Online, Quickbooks Online Advanced, or any QuickBooks Desktop product and you are within 60 days of the purchase date, you’re eligible for a refund under our satisfaction guarantee.

Note: The 60-day money back guarantee does not apply to monthly QuickBooks Online subscriptions.

QuickBooks Online Accountant Pro Tax refunds

If QuickBooks Online Accountant Pro Tax does not meet your expectations, you can request a refund within 14 calendar days from the date you subscribed to the product.

Note: Accounts with returns that have been EFILED or printed are not eligible for a refund.

Cancellations and continued access

If you choose to cancel your monthly subscription, cancellations will become effective at the end of the monthly billing period. You will not receive a prorated refund: your access and subscription benefits will continue for the remainder of the billing period.

Your data will remain available to you for a period of 1 year from your cancellation. You may resubscribe at any time during this period to pick-up exactly where you left off. Review this support article for further information on how to cancel your subscription.

Note: If you made a purchase through an app store (Google Play or Apple’s App Store), your cancellation or refund request must be completed via that app store.
