Using the Digital Assistant in QuickBooks Online

Sometimes you just want a fast answer to your question without having to navigate away from what you’re doing within QuickBooks Online. Our Digital Assistant has you covered.

Chat with our in-product assistant 24/7. You will be greeted by name and see personalized content based on your product and the features you use. Get quick responses to your queries by entering brief questions or keywords.

The assistant is also quite intuitive. For example, if you have recently migrated into the product, you’ll be offered a post-migration flow to help ensure you’re set up correctly. If you ask about adding accounts to your Chart of Accounts and are at your accounts limit, the assistant will let you know that an upgrade may be a solution for you.

How to use the Digital Assistant

The Digital Assistant is accessible under the Help menu. You can ask it for guidance on topics like how to create an invoice, how to reconcile your account, or even how to get started in QuickBooks. It will make recommendations and remember your preference for videos, in which case it will display steps alongside an embedded video in response to your question when a video is available.

To access go here or:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online.
  2. Select Help (?).
  3. Enter your question or a short message about the topic you’d like to discuss in the Assistant tab.
  4. The Assistant will quickly respond with its best recommendation so you can be on your way.
