System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2024

QuickBooks Desktop2024 requires a 64-bit Windows operating system and specific hardware specifications to run efficiently. To ensure the best performance and data security, use a supported version of Windows, such as Windows 11 or Windows Server 2022, installed natively on your computer.
Operating system requirements
QuickBooks Desktop 2024 requires a 64-bit Windows operating system—32-bit is not supported. Click here to determine if your operating system is 64-bit.
QuickBooks Desktop 2024 is compatible with the following operating systems.
Supported Windows versions
- Windows 11, 64-bit, natively installed
- Windows Server 2022, Standard and Essentials
- Windows Server 2019, Standard and Essentials
- Windows Server 2016, Standard and Essentials
Note: QuickBooks requires you to use Windows natively. Linux, Windows 10 S Mode, emulators, and virtual environments are not supported.
Windows 10 support
Microsoft will stop providing security updates and support for Windows 10 after October 14, 2025. While you can currently install QuickBooks 2024 on Windows 10, we highly recommend upgrading to a supported Windows version to keep your data secure.
Database servers
For database servers, you must use a natively installed version of Windows:
- Windows Server 2022, Standard and Essentials
- Windows Server 2019, Standard and Essentials
- Windows Server 2016, Standard and Essentials

This space is only required from the work folder LocalApplicationData+"Intuit\Intuit Data Protect". Note: Store your QuickBooks data file on a solid-state drive (SSD)  for the best performance. |

QuickBooks integrates with various apps and software.

- Internet access and Google Chrome are required.
- Payroll and other online features and services require Internet access with at least a 56 Kbps connection speed (1 Mbps recommended).

If you use the Warehouse Manager in QuickBooks Desktop mobile, the following devices are supported:
- Zebra TC20/TC25/TC51 Mobile Computer: (Recommended, Android 6.0 & above)

Scanners (Enterprise 24.0)
QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 24.0 also supports these scanners:

What if my system doesn't meet the minimum requirements?
If you find your systems don't meet some or all of the minimum requirements to run QuickBooks Desktop, you may be able to upgrade your system.
