Where should I enter $2 per day (max. $400) work from home expenses deduction
You claim this amount on form T777S, "Statement of Employment Expenses for Working at Home Due to COVID-19". I don't think this form is available in Profile yet.
Hi, thank you for using Intuit ProFile Community
The new CRA for T777s will be in ProFile version 2020.3.0, targeted for release before the T1 filing window opens at CRA February 22, 2021
Hope this helps
Really ??? you HOPE to have it BEFORE Efile opens ?? REALLY ???
is that NOT YOUR JOB ??
We pay BIG Money for your program and to NOT have it COMPLETE BEFORE EFILE opens is NOT RIGHT !
Are you coming over and completing the 121 returns I have ready to go NOW, that will need this entered on ??? OTHER programs already have it AVAILABLE
Hi, thank you for using Intuit ProFile Community

Hope this helps
This only answers question if the employee choses to claim the home office expense. It doesn't answer where to put the $2 per day (max $400) deduction. Can anyone answer this question? It looks like box 22900 is the right one. There is now specific line to enter it once you select he box. Do we just force enter in other expenses?
Go to form T777S, Option 1. You enter the number of days worked from home there.
Thank you
So that means, you are not getting upto $400. $400 just being deducted from your taxable income, so that means, you are only getting tax benefit of 150 or less...that sucks

Form T777s is used to claim the maximum $400 temporary flat rate Covid 19 employment expense. The T777s is available in ProFile version 2020.3.0. The claim is reported on line 22900 of the T1. The amount reduces net income. It is not a refundable credit.
Hope this helps
you expected the government to tell the TRUTH?? LOL
I have a lot of people thinking they get $400 automatically.
and NOT an automatic $400--some employers are issuing the forms with exact days on it--I had 1 yesterday for 61 days
The work from home can be claimed on the T777S and T777S Details. This will allow you to complete the simplified method of $2/day or the detailed method if the employer signed the employee expenses form.
