Is it there a way to password protect emailed returns? I email my out of town clients. The T183 does not show full SIN but the Tax Summary and slip summary both show the full number.
In profile you can set it so all files created from the File-print/email pdf option are fully Password protected before a client can open them.
In profile go to Options - Emvironment, then click the PDF tab. At the bottom you can choose from two preset Password options or create a blanket same password for all clients.
In our office we use the client name & dob one and simply include generic copy paste instructions for each clients
Hope that helps!
i'm unable to extend password protection to anything other than the T1 itself. is there something else i need to check? thx.
Hi,
You can password protect a pdf/email tax package using this article. Note: this will not password protect archive pdfs. The masking of the SIN cannot be extended to other forms, nor can it be turned off
