Non Resident Returns

I need to complete a non resident return for a client in Germany that has a rental property in Canada. According to the help instructions, once I select the appropriate residency status (s.217) on the info worksheet, the T1159 should appear when I open the T1 jacket. This is not happening. Any suggestions?

Non Resident Returns

Thank you for using Intuit ProFile Community

Form T1159 is only available for a section 216 return. If province of residence is set to non-resident s216 then the T1159 will be available. Search in form explorer for T1159 to bring up the required form for filing to CRA. Information about the section 216 return can be found here.

Hope this helps

Non Resident Returns

I tried your solution several times and it never worked. I finally finished the return yesterday by doing the bookkeeping on Quickbooks and then downloading the 1159 from CRA on the fill option. For some reason, the 1159 never came up for me. Regardless, the return is done and all is well.

Non Resident Returns

Hi, thank you for using Intuit ProFile Community

Sorry to hear the set up did not work for you. On the residency section of the Info tab , the province of residence on December 31 needs to be set to non-resident section 216, (you need to scroll down in the drop down to find this option), the T1159 becomes available and the T776(s) can be completed as usual.

Hope this helps
