Canada Worker Benefit - Schedule 6 for New Permanent Resident
I am filing a first return for a Permanent Resident who came to Canada with PR status in March 2025 and the Schedule 6 isn't calculating for them, even though their income falls into the eligible category. Is there a box I am supposed to click or something else I might be missing? When I read CRA site the client qualifies based on the criteria listed, ie. over 19, has working income and was a resident throughout the year. Anyone have any suggestions?
Canada Worker Benefit - Schedule 6 for New Permanent Resident
Tax payer has to be a resident for throughout the whole year to qualify for CWB. New residents are her only part of the year so do not qualify. Hope this helps.
