Hi All,
My client has unused tuition balance $12300 from 2017. He want to go back to his birth country permanently. He has no plan to come back to Canada in near future.
His 2019 total income was $58100, and he want to claim all his balance tuition $12300 in his tax return of 2019. How can I claim and use all his tuition for his 2019 tax return?
Thanks
Rao

Your client has NO discretion in choosing how much to claim. Tuition/education credits carried forward MUST be used if needed to offset any tax payable, just make sure the correct amounts are entered in S11/ON S11 and the software will calculate. Anything not needed WILL be carried forward, but it sounds like it will all get used up...
