Hi I have finished a Final Return for 2020 Just discovered 1 payment from CPP in 2021. Do I really need to file a trust return or can I add it to Final return with a note Many thanks Karen
i had a similar situation. i filed a final return and then had some income come in in jan. i had already sent the final return and marked it as such. i called cra and they told me to submit another final return with the updated info and it would update the account as a final return. i did so and it went through no problem. so in essence the final return i had submitted in dec. was not the final return the one i sent in jan. was. hope this helps. good luck.
Tryin to help a client whose father deceased in 2020. I'm in the early stages gathering slips, info. My first question is: slips issued are a combination addressed to "father", other slips to "estate of...", can slips be submitted together on the same T1 Final return?
yes with the exception of the death benefit. the death benefit has to be claimed by the executor/executrix normally. hope this helps.
Much Appreciated.
Can I have some assistance regarding the two warnings below?
Warning- T1EFILEA subsection 104(13.4) election has been made for a deceased taxpayer. However, the election amount specified is invalid. Please enter a valid amount on line 52080 of the T1Efile form
Warning- T1EFILEA subsection 104(13.4) election has been made for a deceased taxpayer. T3 slip has been entered. However, the subsection 104(13.4) election amount has not been specified. Please indicate the election amount on line 52080 of the T1Efile form
sorry i am not understanding why you are getting a warning. what was the t3 amount for? there should not be an election? please provide more info.
This deceased 3 t5013 as well as 6 T3s and a T5008, plus others (ie.T5, a few versions of T4s)
wow this one is a little above me. sorry. from what i have read if it is an individual partnership you can put the t5013 slips on the t1. if not then you will have to do a corporate and a trust. good luck. maybe someone with more knowledge than me can help you or maybe call cra and speak to a deceased agent that is more experienced. good luck. sorry i can't be of more help.
Thanks for that information, I'm in the same boat as you, the T5013 is available in input on the T1 but asking for that "election amount" throws me off!!
I'll try your suggestion and contact CRA.
Regards,
The confusion I also have is the 5013 has more information on the slip than what I can enter in Profile, maybe like a T3 that has an amount in Box 51, there's no need to enter in Profile? Even after I removed all the figures for the T5013 in Profile to see if warning would still appear and it DID!
CRA has me on an hour + waiting on hold, I'll need to try them again tomorrow am and test my luck to speak with someone there.
i just love all the waiting. don't know why it takes so long. the trouble is you will get an agent that will have to transfer you to another one and you will be on hold for even longer. good luck. have patience. lol
Is there an Investment Tax Credit available for an Ontarian taxpayer on his/her Final Tax Return for 2020?
Thanks in advance,
Just checking, have I been sending my inquiries to you only, or the Profile users community?
