For T2: when doing carry forward last year T2 to current year, those listed in previous year Schedule 8 ( Class, UCC etc ) were NOT carried forward to current year Schedule 8. Wondering if Profile can fix it or we have to manually entered all those amounts, class etc.?
Hi,
This is under investigation, it seems to occur when the file to be carried forward is in the 2019-2022 T2 module. We are currently working on a fix but, there is a work around until the issue is resolved. The workaround is to move the tax file into the current T2 module, using this article, Follow the steps in the resolution section. When asked if you want the return in the 2020-2023 module, click ok. Once the return is in the 2020-2023 T2 module, right click on a black space on any form and click on carryforward.
I apologies for this inconvenience. I hope this helps
Thank you, Duncan. Will try to work around for now. Please post when it is fixed.
Hi,
The engineers are looking to have this resolved for ProFile 2022.3.0 targeted for Mid February 2023. If you need a permanent fix before that, call us at 1-800-452-9970
I apologize for the inconvenience.
Hi, we have tried the workaround on a few companies and to no avail. The popup does not appear after reopening the file.
I have tried the work around and it is not working for me either. Hopefully a fix happens sooner than the Feb 2023.
What we have just discovered is, if you roll forward the return in v 2022.0.5 (prior version) then open it in the current version, there are no issues. so hopefully, there is a way to roll back the current version. Then roll forward all the t2's you need to in the next few months and all should be good. Update and open as usual. This should give intuit time to fix this as schedule 8 is a very important schedule. We have clients with 30 to 50 assets, manually entering these could lead to errors.
How do I go back to a prior version after I have already done the update?
That is the question that I was asking. There is apparently no roll back feature. Something all great software has..especially for this reason. The process would be easy : Roll back Profile, restore the client file from an older version incase you opened it in the newer version of Profile and then you should be good. Unfortunately now we have todo it manually. Not only does it create frustration, but it too costs the company money as my employee has to re-enter all previous CCA and make sure it is correct. No big deal if it is two pieces of equipment, but we have some big companies with millions of dollars in equipment. At any rate, waiting until Feb for the next update is, in my opinion unacceptable.
Hi,
The product development team is working on a fix for 2022.2.0 targeted for mid December. This issue can be resolved with the workaround in 2022.1.0. If you have issues with the workaround call us at 1-800-452-9970: Rolling back to an earlier version of ProFile is not necessary
I apologize for the inconvenience
Why have you not sent a general email about this. I have had staff wasting time trying to figure out why this is not working. Waiting till Feb 2023 is VERY acceptable. Will you pay my staff to do the extra work and lost time?
Hi,
There is an update: the fix for the s8 carryforward issue will be in ProFile 2022.2.0. to be released within a week. I apologize for the inconvenience, but the issue will be resolved shortly.
There is a known issues menu item in the on-line menu in ProFile:
ProFile issues are listed there when they are published by our development department.
V2202.0 seems to resolve this issue so far.
I agree with Louis. We imported with out issues. Nice work Intuit on getting an update out fairly quickly.
Hi,
The schedule 8 carry forward issue has been resolved in ProFile version 2022.2.0, now available for download.
I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused
