Make a supplier inactive in QuickBooks Online

You cannot delete a supplier at this time, but you can make one permanently inactive.

Here's how to make a supplier inactive:

1. Go to All apps , select Expenses & Bills, then select Suppliers (Take me there).
2. In the Action column, select the ▼ dropdown next to the supplier you want to make inactive, then select Make inactive.
   Note: If you don't see this option, select the supplier, then select Edit ▼ dropdown and select Make inactive.
3. Select Yes, make inactive to confirm.

Instead of making them inactive, it's better in some situations to merge accounts, customers, suppliers instead.
