My menu, an updated version of Accountant tools

Beginning August 4, 2025, accountants on the new Intuit Platform in clients’ company files can customize their Accountant tools, now called My menu, located at the top of the left side navigation bar. As an accountant user, you can use My menu to more easily access your most-used bookmarks, tools, and actions.

If now isn't the best time, you can opt out your client temporarily from the new Intuit Platform. While they won't be able to use some of our newest features, all of their data and connections will remain. On October 1, 2025, any client you’ve opted out will be automatically opted back into this experience because the classic QuickBooks experience will no longer be supported.

New name and location

In the new QuickBooks navigation, Accountant tools is now re-named to My menu. The My menu button is located at the top of the left navigation pane and has the same familiar Image of the My menu icon. icon previously used for Accountant tools.

When you select My menu, a panel opens with Bookmarks, Create (referring to the +Create button, previously +New), and Tools. Any previously bookmarked pages to the QuickBooks account will appear in the Bookmarks section.

FAQs

Based on accountant feedback, we added the New window feature, previously available in Accountant tools, to My menu in the new QuickBooks experience. To access New window, you can customize your My menu tool and add it to your Tools.

You can find both pages through the regular left navigation in the Accounting section. Both pages can be added to Bookmarks and to the Bookmarks tab in My Menu.

You can select the +Create button on the left navigation, then select Journal entry. You can also add the action to the Create tab in My menu.

The Prep for taxes page is now located in the left navigation in the Business Tax section.

You can still access both pages through QuickBooks Online Accountant. If you're working in one of your client’s company files, select the dropdown at top header that says your client’s name and select Back to practice.
