SOLVEDby QuickBooks117Updated 1 month ago

Learn how to add to or remove your accountant in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

You can give your accountant access to your QuickBooks Self-Employed company file and accounting info. This lets them review your books and make corrections as needed. It also makes it easier for you to collaborate, especially during tax season.

Invite an accountant

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
  2. Select Settings ⚙, then select Accountant.
  3. In the Accountant email field, enter your accountant’s email address.
  4. Select Send invitation.
  5. Select Text a code to verify your identity. This sends a verification code to your registered mobile number.
  6. Enter the code in the Verification code field, then select Continue.
    Note:
    1. This emails an invite to your accountant.
    2. You’ll get an email notification once they accept the invite.
    3. After they accept it, they can access your accounts through QuickBooks Online Accountant.
    4. If they don’t receive the invite, you may select Resend invitation.

Remove an accountant

If you don't want an accountant to have access anymore, you can remove them.

  1. Select Settings ⚙, then select Accountant.
  2. Find the accountant you want to remove, then select Remove accountant next to their name.

The accountant will no longer have access to your company file.

Send copies of reports to your accountant

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Find the report you want to send to your accountant.
  3. Select the time period or tax year from the ▼ dropdown.
  4. Select View or Download.
  5. From the ▼ dropdown, select Print or Download.

You may now send the report to your accountant via mail or email.
