Allowing third party access to your company file
by Intuit•2• Updated 7 months ago
Learn what you should know and do before letting a third party application have access to your QuickBooks company file.
Third party applications can be very convenient and often provide efficient solutions to your company's needs, such as expense reporting or sales lead tracking. However, that also means the apps may have access to sensitive data in your file such as social security numbers, employee data and bank account numbers.
What to do before you allow access
Giving an integrated application authorization to access personal data will allow that application to access any personal data in your company file until you revoke access.
- Always use signed applications or inform the application developer that you prefer to use only signed applications.
- Investigate the application to verify the type of data it accesses before you provide access.
- Make sure to inform anyone who may be impacted that you will be using an application that accesses certain types of data.
