View Your Contact Import Results

by Intuit Updated 3 weeks ago

When you import to your Mailchimp audience, we generate a report that shows how many contacts were added, updated, skipped as duplicates, and whether there were any addresses with syntax errors. If you used the Auto-update feature, your results may look a little different.

In this article, you'll learn how to access and read the import results report.

View import history

The Import history page for your audience shows a list of errors detected. To view the affected addresses, access it within 24 hours of the import.

To view your import history, follow these steps.

  1. Click Audience.
  2. Click Audience dashboard.
  3. If you have more than one audience, click the Current audience drop-down and choose the one you want to work with.
  4. Click the Manage Audience drop-down and choose Manage contacts.
  5. On the Manage Contacts page, click Import History.

Standard import

This is an example and explanation of a standard import result, which didn't use the Auto-update feature.

This is the number of addresses that have already been added to or unsubscribed from your audience. This also includes invalid addresses such as bounces.

  • 2 emails have syntax errors.

  • 1 emails was either invalid or role-based and could not be imported.
This is the number of role-based and invalid addresses that we removed from your import, including common domain misspellings (gamil.com instead of gmail.com).

Auto-update import

In this example, the Auto-update feature was turned on. You can tell because the first line says that subscribers were "updated or added" instead of just "added."
