View Unsubscribed Contacts

by Intuit Updated 2 months ago

Your Mailchimp audience is designed to help you collect and manage all of your contacts in a single place, whether they're subscribed, unsubscribed, non-subscribed, or cleaned. Unsubscribed contacts are those who once received your emails, but have since opted out.

In this article, you'll learn how to view your unsubscribed contacts.

Before you start

Here are some things to know before you begin this process.

Definitions

  • Subscribed contact
Someone who has opted in to receive your email marketing campaigns.
  • Unsubscribed contact
Someone who previously received your email marketing campaigns, but has opted out.
  • Non-subscribed contact
Someone who has interacted with your online store, but hasn't opted in to receive your email marketing campaigns.
  • Cleaned contact
A non-deliverable email address. Hard bounces, as well as repeated soft bounces, become cleaned addresses.

To learn more about contact types, check out About Your Contacts.

View unsubscribed contacts

To view your unsubscribed contacts, you'll create a segment of them in your audience.

  1. Click Audience, then click All contacts.
  2. If you have more than one audience, click the Current audience drop-down and choose the one you want to work with.
  3. Click the Create new segment drop-down, then click Regular segment.
  4. For the first condition, set the drop-down menus to Email subscription status | is one of | Unsubscribed.
  5. Click Preview Segment.

When you preview your segment, you'll see only the unsubscribed contacts in your audience. To further refine your segment, click Edit segment. To save your segment of unsubscribed contacts, click Save as segment. To save a copy of your segment, export it to a CSV.
