Upgrade or downgrade your payroll plan

Here’s how to upgrade or downgrade your Intuit QuickBooks Workforce or QuickBooks Desktop Payroll plan.

Intuit QuickBooks Workforce or QuickBooks Desktop Payroll can grow with your business. If your payroll needs change, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan to suit your requirements.

Step 1: Choose a new plan

Check out the available plans to see which payroll service is right for you.

Step 2: Upgrade or downgrade your plan

  • Sign in to QuickBooks Online as a primary or company admin.

  • Select Settings ⚙, then Subscriptions and billing.

  • Make sure your payment info is up-to-date.

  • In the Intuit QuickBooks Workforce section, select Upgrade your plan or Downgrade your plan. 

If you don’t see this option, contact us for help with upgrading or downgrading. 

  • Review the available plans and then select Choose plan.

  • Follow the on-screen steps to upgrade your plan.
