Learn how to move your QuickBooks Desktop file to Intuit Enterprise Suite.

Moving to Intuit Enterprise Suite lets you handle complex business needs. However, preparing your data for the move can be a challenge, so we created a data preparation tool just for you. This tool makes sure your move to Intuit Enterprise Suite is seamless and your info is clean, compatible, and ready.

This tool streamlines the entire process: mapping your entities, preparing your data, and sending files to Intuit for the move.

  • Map Desktop files to Intuit Enterprise Suite entities: The tool will try to auto-map entities based on the closest name match, and provide you the option to change the mapping. You can prepare multiple files for the move or start with one to test the suite.
  • Prepare your data for the move: The tool analyzes your company file to identify data issues, prepares a personalized cleanup checklist with the data you need to review, and offers batch-action to resolve issues with a single click.
  • Send your file(s) to Intuit when they are ready: Our experts will securely move the data to the new suite for you.

Here's a step-by-step guide to help you get set up after signing your contract for Intuit Enterprise Suite.

Step 1: Launch and map your entities

Pre-requisite: For the mapping process to work, all of your QuickBooks Desktop company files must be on the same version. Please ensure all files you intend to move are updated before you begin.

  1. Open your company file in QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. From the top menu, select Move to Intuit Enterprise Suite. Then select Initiate upgrade process.
  3. There’s a prompt that’ll let you sign in with your Intuit Account.
  4. The tool will find your Intuit Enterprise Suite contract. Match each of your QuickBooks Desktop company files to Intuit Enterprise Suite’s correct parent or child entity.
  5. When the mapping is correct, select Let’s Begin to prepare your data.

Step 2: Prepare your data

This tool will show you a checklist of everything needed to get your file ready. Tasks are either batch-actionable (fixed all at once) or hygiene tasks that take you to the right spot on your desktop. The tool automatically creates a backup of your company file before any changes are made. You can restore this backup at any time if needed.

  1. Review each task and the data the tool shows.
  2. Take action on each item. You can fix tasks one at a time, or select Complete All to resolve most of your bulk-actionable tasks at once.

Step 3: Finalize and choose how to move

After you finish all the tasks, your file is ready.

  1. You have two choices:
    • Prepare Another File: If you need to move more files, you can do the same steps for your other company files.
    • Send to Intuit: If this is your only file or all your intended files are ready, you can send your file(s) to us.
  2. Review the Terms & Conditions and select Proceed.

Step 4: Use Intuit Enterprise Suite

Now that your company file is moved, select Open Company to launch your file and start using Intuit Enterprise Suite.
