Connect or Disconnect Mailchimp by Eventbrite

by Intuit Updated 2 months ago

Use Mailchimp by Eventbrite to quickly add buyers to your audience and send personalized messages based on their purchase behavior and traits. You can also sync upcoming events to promote in your marketing campaigns.

In this article, you’ll learn how to connect and disconnect Mailchimp by Eventbrite.

Before you start

Here are some things to know before you begin this process.

  • This integration replaces the discontinued Mailchimp Sync for Eventbrite.
  • You must have a Mailchimp account and an Eventbrite account to use this integration.
  • The integration will automatically tag your contacts based on the event, venue, and organizer.

How it works

When you connect the Eventbrite integration, events from Eventbrite will be added to your Mailchimp account as products. Buyers who accept marketing at checkout will be added to your audience as subscribed contacts, while buyers who don’t accept won’t be added.

Eventbrite also sends data about your buyers—like contact information, purchase data, and behavioral data—to your Mailchimp account. You can view their interactions on the activity feed of their contact profile.

Connect Mailchimp by Eventbrite

To connect your Mailchimp account to Eventbrite, follow these steps.

  1. Navigate to the Eventbrite detail page.
  2. Click Connect.
  3. Log in to your Eventbrite account.
  4. Click Allow.
  5. Select the events you want to sync.
  6. Next, you’ll have the option to sync all future events and past buyers to your Mailchimp audience. Check the box next to each option you want to set.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Click Connect to Mailchimp.
  9. Enter your Mailchimp login credentials and click Log In.
  10. Review the Mailchimp terms and conditions to authorize the connection and click Allow to confirm.
  11. Click the Mailchimp List drop-down and choose an existing audience.
  12. Click Finish.

That’s it! This will start the Eventbrite sync process. The time it takes to sync will depend on the number of orders and your configuration settings.

After the sync is complete, you’ll have access to Mailchimp’s e-commerce features. You’ll also have access to Eventbrite templates that allow you to add upcoming events to campaigns created using our classic builder or our new email builder.

Next steps

After the sync is complete, you’ll have access to Mailchimp’s e-commerce features. Create purchase-based segments to use with campaigns, track and report data, add events to campaigns, send custom recommendations, and more.
