Connect or Disconnect Mailchimp for PrestaShop

by Intuit Updated 2 weeks ago

Mailchimp for PrestaShop adds your PrestaShop store customers and their order details to your Mailchimp audience. Use PrestaShop data to track sales, create targeted e-commerce campaigns, generate product recommendations, and more.

In this article, you'll learn how to connect and disconnect Mailchimp for PrestaShop.

Before you start

  • Mailchimp for PrestaShop works with all versions of PrestaShop 1.6.0.4 or higher, and requires a PHP version between 5.6 and 8.1.
  • Abandoned cart automations aren't compatible with guest checkouts in PrestaShop 2.0 or higher.
  • This module is compatible with our Marketing API.

How it works

When you connect your PrestaShop store to Mailchimp, we'll update your existing Mailchimp audience, or create a new audience, with each customer's email address, name, and order information. To create a new Mailchimp audience, your store's contact information must include a physical address. We'll also generate a permission reminder for customers who opt in to receive your email marketing. To change the contact information or permission reminder for an audience after it's created, edit its required footer content in Mailchimp.

Customers who opt in to receive your marketing emails at checkout are imported into Mailchimp as subscribed contacts. Customers who choose not to receive marketing emails sync to your Mailchimp audience as non-subscribed contacts. You'll collect more contacts as new customers purchase from you, and future orders will sync automatically. New subscribed contacts follow the opt-in settings in place for the connected audience. If you've enabled double opt-in for your Mailchimp audience, new subscribed contacts receive a confirmation email that they must click before they’re added to your audience.

Nice! Once your store completes its sync, your setup is complete. The time it takes to sync depends on the size of your audience and the number of orders in your store.
