Connect your Stripe account to Mailchimp to sync Stripe customers and orders to Mailchimp. Use this information to send targeted marketing campaigns, grow your business, and sell more products.
In this article, you’ll learn how to connect or disconnect the Stripe integration.
Before you start
Here are a few things to know before you begin this process.
- This is a paid integration. If you don’t have an account with Data Mapper for Mailchimp, you can create one during the connection process.
- Before you connect, you’ll need to accept our additional terms of service and Stripe's Connected Account Agreement.
- For more detailed explanations and troubleshooting help, visit Stripe’s Support page.
How it works
When you integrate your Mailchimp account with Stripe, shoppers and their purchase information will sync to your Mailchimp audience. Those who opt in to receive your email marketing join your audience as subscribed contacts. Shoppers who don't sign up for marketing emails appear in your audience as non-subscribed contacts. To learn more about different contact types in your Mailchimp account, check out About Your Contacts.

- Double opt-in - Your customers will receive an email asking if they want to receive marketing emails from you. If they accept, they’ll be marked as subscribed in Mailchimp. If they decline, they’ll be marked as non-subscribed. They’ll be able to receive transactional emails from Mailchimp, but not marketing emails.
- Transactional - Your customers will sync to Mailchimp as non-subscribed contacts. They’ll only receive transactional emails.
- Subscribed - Your Stripe customers will sync to Mailchimp as subscribed contacts. They’ll receive marketing emails automatically.
- Click Next.
- If you want to sync your customers’ product and purchase data to Mailchimp, click in the Store field and enter a nickname for your store, and then click Next. If you only want to sync customer data, click Skip.
- Select the customer data fields you want to sync to Mailchimp. The email address is required, but all other fields are optional. Click Next.
