Learn how to fix unrecoverable errors in QuickBooks Desktop.
You can sometimes get error messages when you do tasks in QuickBooks. For example, during bank reconciliation or when you view past reconciliation reports. Learn how to fix unrecoverable errors so you can get back to business. Here's how.
Step 1: Update Adobe Acrobat Reader to the latest version
QuickBooks uses Adobe Acrobat (Reader, Standard, Pro, and Studio) to open PDF files. Make sure you have the latest version.
Tips:
- You can also turn on automatic updates for Adobe Acrobat so you don’t have to update manually every time.
- You don’t have to change anything for Acrobat Reader. It’s set up for automatic updates by default.
Step 2: Troubleshoot and fix data damage in your company file
Try any of the following solutions when you get an “Unrecoverable Error: xxxxx xxxxx” during reconciliation:
- Repair your company file
- Use a recent backup to restore your company file
