The features in this article are currently in BETA and are not available on all QuickBooks Online accounts. If you don’t see the option to “Track inventory across sales channels” during the Commerce sales channel connection flow, then you currently do not have access to these BETA features. If you want to learn more about e-commerce features that are also available in QuickBooks Online, check out how to connect a sales channel with Commerce in QuickBooks Online. |
Learn how to match duplicate products from different sales channels in QuickBooks Online for Commerce.
If you sell products in more than one sales channel, you may have the same products in each channel. When you import products from a sales channel to QuickBooks, you'll need to match those products to what you already have in QuickBooks to avoid duplicates being added.
Match products after connecting another sales channel
After you connect another sales channel, you’ll have the option to match your products. QuickBooks suggests matches that you can review, or you can find your own products to match.
- Go to Commerce Overview.
- From the tasks, select the notification for the channel that you want to match products for.
- Then, choose how you want to match your products:
Review matches suggested by QuickBooks
- In the Review matches tab, review the matches QuickBooks suggests. Do one of the following:
- If the products are the same, select Confirm match.
- If the products are different, select the Confirm match dropdown menu, then Other possible matches. Choose one of the other suggested matches, or select Search and find a match to look through your other products. Once you have found the right product, select it, then select Confirm match.
- If the product doesn’t already exist in QuickBooks, select Create new. Then, select Create item.
- A notification appears when you’ve completed the match.
- Select the View completed tab to view products you’ve already matched.
Manually match your products
Use this option if QuickBooks couldn’t find the match, or this is no matching product at all.
- In the Find matches tab, find a product you want to match, and select Search for a match. Do one of the following:
- If the product already exists, enter the product name and select the matching product. Then, select Confirm match.
- If the product doesn’t already exist in QuickBooks, select Create new. Then, select Create item.
- A notification appears when you’ve completed the match.
- Select the View completed tab to view products you’ve already matched.
Once you've matched all your products, make sure your inventory looks correct. Go to Sales, then Products & Services to review and make changes if needed.
