by Intuit•4• Updated 7 months ago
Delete a group name or category if you no longer need it to organize your contacts. This action removes the group option from your audience and its related Mailchimp-hosted signup forms.
In this article, you'll learn how to delete a group name or group category from your audience.
Before you start
Here are some things to know before you begin this process.
- Audience actions are permanent and can't be undone.
- Make sure you’re familiar with how group names and categories work in Mailchimp. To learn more, check out Getting Started with Groups.
- When you delete a group name or category, its contacts remain in your audience. To remove contacts from your audience, you’ll need to archive or delete them.
- Before you can delete a group, you'll need to remove it as the recipient of any draft or ongoing campaigns.
- Deleting a group changes the bit number for all subsequent groups. Make sure to refresh the embedded form code after deleting a group.
