Use Image Content Blocks in the Classic Builder

Use the Image content block to add an image to an email, landing page, or website. Drag and drop the block into your layout and choose an image to share with your email contacts.
In this article, you'll learn how to use Image content blocks in the classic builder.
Before you start
Here are some things to know before you begin this process.
- This article tells you how to use Image content blocks for the classic builder. For more information on Image content blocks in the new builder, check out Use Image Content Blocks in the New Builder.
- You can include as many Image content blocks as you need, but keep our image requirements in mind so your content displays as expected on both desktop and mobile devices.
- When you upload an image to the content studio, we change the file name to a unique identifier that can't be duplicated or changed.
- The content studio supports JPG, JPE, JPEG, GIF, PNG, and BMP image files.
- To embed multiple images in a single block, use an Image Group block. To include a caption with an image, choose Image Card or Image + Text.

Add an Image content block to your layout
To add an Image content block, follow these steps.
- Click and drag the Image block into your layout.
Drag and drop an image from your computer into the Image content block. Or, click Browse to open the content studio and choose an image.
- To use a previously uploaded image, click the image and click Insert.
- To use a file from your computer, click Upload, find the file you want, and click Open.
- To use an image that's saved online, click the drop-down menu next to Upload, and choose Import from URL. Input the URL, and click Import. Then, click the image and click Insert.
After the image appears in the content block, click Save & Close.
Edit style and settings
To edit style and settings for your Image content block, follow these steps.
- In your layout, click the Image content block you want to work with.
- Choose an editing option from the Content tab.

Choose a different image from the content studio. - Edit
Modify the image in Photo Editor. - Link
Link the image to a website or a file for download. - Alt
Add alt text to your image. - Image Display Size
Drag the slider between 100% to 10% to adjust the size of your image.

- On the Style tab, adjust the image border and corners.
If you want to give your image a more circular shape, move the Rounded corners slider to the right. - On the Settings tab, change how the image appears in the content block.
- Align
Click the drop-down menu to change the alignment of the image. - Margins
Check the Edge To Edge box to proportionally expand the height and width of the image to fill the content block. - Retina Image Support
Check the Constrain image dimensions by 50% for high-definition displays box to prevent image pixelation when your campaign is viewed on devices with retina display.
- Align
- Click Save & Close.
Enable dynamic content
When you design an email, turn any content block into dynamic content that displays different content to recipients based on conditions you set. This helps target different types of contacts at the same time with a single email.
