Use Image Group Content Blocks in the Classic Builder

The Image Group content block adds 2 to 5 images to your email or page. Drag and drop the block into your layout and choose the images you want to share.
In this article, you'll learn how to use Image Group content blocks in the classic builder.
Before you start
- This article tells you how to use Image Group content blocks for the classic builder. For more information on similar content blocks in the new builder, check out our articles on Image and Layout content blocks.
- You can include as many Image content blocks as you need, but keep our image requirements in mind so your email displays as expected in recipients' inboxes.
- When you upload an image to the content studio, we change the file name to a unique identifier that can't be duplicated or changed.
- The content studio supports JPG, JPE, JPEG, GIF, PNG, and BMP image files.
- If you want to include only one image use an Image content block. To include a caption with an image, choose Image Card or Image + Text.

Add Image Group content blocks to your layout
To add an Image Group content block, follow these steps.
- Click and drag the Image Group content block into your layout.
- By default, the block will have two areas to upload images. To add an additional image, click Add Another Image. You can include up to 5 images.
- Drag and drop an image from your computer to the area of the Image Group content block where you want to insert it. Or, click Browse to open the content studio and choose an image.
- To use a previously uploaded image, click the image and click Insert.
- To use a file from your computer, click Upload, find the file you want, and click Open.
- To use an image that's saved online, click the drop-down menu next to Upload, and choose Import from URL. Input the URL, and click Import.
- Use the options listed in step 3 until you're done adding images to your content block.
- Click Save & Close.
Edit style and settings
To make changes to an Image Group block or its settings, follow these steps.
- In your layout, click the Image Group content block you want to work with.
- In the Content tab, choose an editing option for the image you want to work with.

Choose a different image from the content studio. - Edit
Modify the image in Photo Editor. - Link
Link the image to a website or a file for download. - Alt
Add alt text to your image.
- Replace
- In the Style tab, edit the image borders and corners as needed. To apply this style to all Image Group content blocks in your layout, check the box next to Apply to all existing Image Group blocks.
- In the Settings tab, choose your Image Layout. The number of layout options will depend on how many images you have in the Image Group content block.
- Click Save & Close.
Change image order
To change the order of your images, follow these steps.
- In your layout, click the Image Group content block you want to work with.
- In the Content tab, click the three vertical dots next to an image and drag it to where you want the image to appear in the content block.
A black line will appear above or below images to show where the image will be placed when dropped. - When the images are in the order you want, click Save & Close.
Fix image proportions
If different-sized images are next to each other in a layout, you will see a prompt in the editing pane under the largest image.
To change image proportions, follow these steps.
- Click Let's fix it to open the photo editor. We'll automatically create a selection to help you crop the image to the correct proportions.
If you need to adjust the position of the crop, click and drag the selection. - Click the check mark to apply the crop.
- Click Save.
Enable dynamic content
When you design an email, turn any content block into dynamic content that displays different content to recipients based on conditions you set. This helps target different types of contacts at the same time with a single email.
