Use Video Content Blocks in the New Builder

Use the Video block to add a video link to your email. We’ll automatically pull in a thumbnail, or preview image, when you add the link to the video's URL.

In this article, you’ll learn how to use Video content blocks in the new email builder.

Before you start

Here are some things to know before you begin this process.

• Most email clients don't support embedded video, so recipients who click the thumbnail image will view the video in a separate browser window. To use the Auto-convert feature for your embedded videos, check out Add Video to an Email.

Use Video content blocks

To use a Video content block, follow these steps.

1. Click a Video block, or click and drag a Video block into your layout from the side panel.
2. In the Video menu, add a link for your video in the Video URL field.
   
   Vimeo videos and long-form YouTube videos automatically display a thumbnail. If you add a YouTube Shorts video or a video on another platform, you can manually add a thumbnail image. You may wish to add a video player graphic to your image.
3. To add or replace your thumbnail image, click the Replace drop-down. Then, choose Upload Image or Browse Images.
   
   If you replace the thumbnail image for a Vimeo or long-form YouTube video, click Use source thumbnail to revert to the original image.
   
4. Set the image Alignment as left, center, or right.
5. In the Alt Text field, add descriptive text to make your email more accessible.
6. Click the Color field to change the background color of your video block.
7. In the Padding section, enter a value or use the up and down arrows to adjust the padding for each side. Check the Apply to all sides box to apply the padding equally.
8. In the Rounded Corners section, enter a value or use the up and down arrows to change the size. The default value is 0, which means the corners are squared. Uncheck the Apply to all sides box and enter different values to create asymmetrical corners.
9. In the Border section, use the drop-down arrow to choose your border style. Your options are None, Solid, Dashed, Dotted, Double, Inset, Outset, Groove, or Ridge. Enter a value or use the up and down arrows to set your border width in pixels. Click the color circle to change the color of your border.

Enable dynamic content

You can turn any content block into dynamic content that displays different content to recipients based on conditions you set. This helps target different types of contacts at the same time with a single email.
