We update QuickBooks regularly to give you a better experience and fix issues. These release notes explain what's new and improved.

If you have automatic updates turned on, QuickBooks will download updates for you. But you can check for updates manually at any time.

Release 4_69 (R4_69) - March 9, 2023

Inventory changes Onboard and modify item categories at scale with
Categories in Add/Edit multiple list entries, along with the
copy-paste from excel.
Understand the value of the Categories with a new
Welcome screen.
Category Center re-named as Category List, similar to
Item List.
Web-connector
changes
New pref type umpnotneeded added to consent
screen. This option turns off the unattended
access option in the consent screen, to give
developers the option to integrate the app and
perform data sync only when QuickBooks is up
and running.
Inventory
  • Manage your inventory with a category list view. Move multiple items and use categories in Find and Select items and in reports. Note: Categories feature will be available for Release 3 (R3) or later only and no longer in R1.
  • View the Expiration Status report. Filter on expiration dates of item lot or serial numbers.
Intercompany transactions
  • Use date-range filters in Intercompany dashboard and Reports.
  • Edit an Intercompany General Journal entry for all fields except amount and account.
  • Change default due-to-account when you approve Intercompany transactions.
Cash Flow Hub

Included direct connect banks in All accounts of Cash Flow hub. Added a wide range of banks to track balances in one place.

1099 changes Changed the year placement on the new 1099 NEC & MISC forms. Added changes to FATCA filing box number and the subsequent box numbers on the 1099 MISC form as per IRS requirements.
View-only mode Find out more about view-only mode for QuickBooks Desktop post subscription expiration or cancelation.
Money Transmission License (MTL) Payments compliance Payment Receipts generated after Online Payment Processing are now MTL compliant. Receipts now display MTL specific fields and disclosures such as Payment Amount, Total Amount, Date of Transaction, Payment Method and Auth Code.
Issue Fixes
  • Inventory Valuation Summary Report works with the Software Developer Kit API.
  • Invoices support the price rule on an item with a sales price of $10,000 or more.
  • KeyBoard Shortcut Enter opens a company file from No Company Open screen.
