Set week start day and payroll periods in QuickBooks Time

How to change your Week Start Day

This setting affects the Manual Time Card, the Schedule Add-on, and some Payroll Period settings.

  1. Go to Company Settings.
  2. Go to Payroll & Overtime, then select Pay Schedule.
  3. Change Week start to the day you want, and select Save.

How to set the Payroll Period

These settings define the periods for approvals, time off, and time exported to other services like QuickBooks, Xero, or Gusto.

  1. Go to Company Settings.
  2. Go to Payroll & Overtime, then select Pay Schedule.
  3. Select the Pay Schedule you want, and select Save.

Payroll Period options

  • Weekly: Every week based on a recent closing date.
  • Every 2 weeks: Every two weeks based on a recent closing date.
  • Twice a month: Twice a month, on specific days of the month.
  • Every 4 weeks: Every four weeks (28 days) based on a recent closing date.
  • Monthly: Every month, on a specific day of the month.
  • Custom: Minimum of two custom pay period end dates.
