Export your receipts in QuickBooks Online

Learn how to export your receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Need to get receipts you’ve added to QuickBooks? You can download them one at a time or in bulk. In this article we’ll show you how.

Export a single receipt

You can export any receipt with these steps:

  1. Go to Settings .
  2. Under Lists, select Attachments.
  3. Find the receipt you want to export. In the Action column, select Download.
  4. The receipt opens in a new browser window. To save the receipt to your computer, right-click and select Save As… from the browser’s pop-up menu.

Export from a transaction

If a receipt is linked to a transaction, you can also export it by going to the transaction. For example, if the receipt is linked to an expense:

  1. Go to Expenses, then selectExpenses (Take me there).
  2. Find and select the expense with the receipt you want to export.
  3. Under Attachments, select the file name of the receipt.
  4. The receipt opens in a browser window. To save the receipt to your computer, right-click and select Save As… from your browser’s pop-up menu.

Export receipts in bulk

To export multiple receipts all at once:

  1. Go to Settings .
  2. Under Lists, select Attachments.
  3. Select the checkboxes for the receipts you want to export.
  4. Select the Batch actions ▼ dropdown and then select Export.
  5. A ZIP file downloads to your computer. Open the ZIP file to get a folder with all the receipts you selected.
