Get CPE credits for ProAdvisor training courses

by Intuit10 Updated 1 year ago

Learn how you can earn Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits through QuickBooks Online Accountant training.

As a ProAdvisor, you can take free courses and earn CPE credits to maintain your professional license. Many ProAdvisor courses let you earn CPE credits and expand your QuickBooks knowledge at the same time.

There are two ways to access free training for CPE credits. You can start a course in QuickBooks Online Accountant. You can also find on-demand training at the Accountant University. We'll also show you how to submit your certificate for credit to the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA).

Step 1: Start a new CPE training course

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online Accountant. Note: You can use Chrome, Safari version 11 and later (Mac only), Firefox, or Microsoft Edge to take courses or exams.
  2. Go to the ProAdvisor menu.
  3. Select the Training tab.
  4. Find training courses marked with CPE credits. Note: Not all courses offer CPE credits.
  5. Select a course and then Get started. Or select Resume to continue a course you already started.

Keep in mind, you must complete the entire course and pass the CPE assessment to earn CPE credits.

Step 2: Take the certification exam

When you're ready, take the assessment to get your certification:

  1. Go to the ProAdvisor menu.
  2. Select the Training tab.
  3. Look for the certification you want to take.
  4. Select Take exam.

Step 3: Save a copy of your certificate

You’ll need a copy of your certificate to submit the CPE credits you earned. Here's how to save or print a copy of your certificate of completion.

Step 4: Submit your CPE certificate for credit

Submit your CPE certificate to the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). Visit the NASBA website for how to submit your CPE certificate.
