Available training

All ProAdvisors get access to exclusive training. Visit the Accountant University to see upcoming webinars, virtual conferences, and in-person sessions. There's also on-demand and self-paced training available.

You can also access training directly from QuickBooks Online Accountant:

  1. Go to the ProAdvisor menu.

Intuit's NASBA sponsor number

Intuit's NASBA sponsor number is 103311.

State acceptance of CPE credits

Some states do not allow CPE credits when taking the QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification courses. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.

When earning CPE credits, it is your responsibility to investigate what your own state board of accountancy recognizes with respect to any CPE course.

QuickBooks Online Advanced Certification path for Accountants

You'll need to pass the QuickBooks Online certification first before you can access the QuickBooks Online Advanced certification exam.

We recommend that you wait at least 90 days after taking the QuickBooks Online certification before you take on the QuickBooks Online Advanced Certification training and exam.

Training optional before taking the exam

All training provided is optional. You can go directly to the certification exam if you choose.

Number of attempts allowed to pass the Certification exam

If you don't pass after the 3rd attempt, you're locked out for 60 days. When the 60 days are up, you can take the certification exam again.

Maintaining certification

To maintain your certification, you'll need to complete a recertification exam each year based on your level of certification. This exam focuses on the changes in QuickBooks Online since the last time you took the recertification. The annual recertification window is from late April to June 30.

Check that certification is still valid

You can see your active certifications any time on the Team menu:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online Accountant.
  2. Go to the Team menu.
  3. Select the Training tab.
  4. Select training and certification history.

This shows all of your certifications and training history. You can also download all your certification and CPE certificates from your history page.

Training available to prepare for the recertification exam

Certified ProAdvisors can take the What’s New in QuickBooks Online training to prepare for the recertification exam. Training is available during the recertification window.

Which exams to pass for recertification of QuickBooks products

You recertify at your certification level. If you're QuickBooks Online Advanced certified and need to recertify, your recertification exam will recertify you for both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Online Advanced.

During the recertification window, we recommend first completing your QuickBooks Online recertification before attempting to become QuickBooks Online Advanced certified for the first time.

Certification Status after leaving your firm

The Certifications you pass are yours, not your firm's, but you must remain a QuickBooks ProAdvisor Program Member to use the certification titles, logos, and distinction.

How often to recertify for each QuickBooks Certification

You need to recertify every year by June 30 to maintain your QuickBooks Online certifications.

Download certification badges and guidelines for use

You should be able to access your badge on the Available Certifications page within 60 minutes of passing your certification exam. For complete instructions, see Accessing your Certification History.

You can use your certification logos to promote your services in any way you like. For example, you could feature your badge on your website or business card.

Warning: You are not permitted to use logos or badges if you don't hold a certification in that product or course, or if your certification has expired.

We welcome feedback. Please send any suggestions, comments, or errors you see to qbproadvisor.com/feedback.

Please be specific about the name of the course you are working on, the specific section and module, and the lesson, quiz, or exam.

While we review all feedback provided and respond to most of it, we are unable to respond to any feedback about an exam question or answer.

Warning: Public discussion of the ProAdvisor Certification exam questions and answers is grounds for immediate termination of your certification. Intuit employees are restricted from providing answers to exam questions.

Troubleshoot training and/or certification exam access

  • Use a different web browser: Here are the supported web browsers for QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Online Accountant.
  • Check your pop-up blocker: If your web browser is set to block pop-ups, it may block training courses and exams. You'll likely see an alert in your web browser. Follow the instructions to allow the training course or exam to start. You can also try temporarily turning off your pop-up blocker.
  • Add the ProAdvisor training webpage as a trusted site: The Training tab in QuickBooks Online Accountant loads data from our ProAdvisor training website. If the tab doesn't load, it may mean the connection to the webpage is blocked. Add the ProAdvisor Training website (https://*.intuittrainingplatform.com) as a trusted site.
  • Clear web browser cookies and cache: Your browser’s cache saves files on your computer to load websites faster on your next visit. But over time, it also gets outdated which can cause issues.
