Configure firewall or security software when using QuickBooks Payments

You may need to configure your firewall or security software to ensure uninterrupted access when using QuickBooks Payments. All web-based credit card processing uses secure connection (SSL) to transmit data. If certain ports, applications, or QuickBooks Payments web sites are not enabled for Payments services, you may experience the following problems or errors when you try to process a transaction:

To ensure that Payments service-related web connections are not blocked by your security software, change your system settings as follows:

	Reminders You may need to ask your system administrator for help in applying these changes to your computer's security system. When the Windows Firewall is disabled, it will automatically block all programs from any inbound connections. The Windows User Account Control (UAC) can also affect the ability of an application to access the internet. If necessary, change User Account Control in Windows.
