Create quotes in the mobile app

Learn how to create quotes in the QuickBooks Online mobile app.

Close deals faster when you create quotes for your customers using the QuickBooks Online mobile app anytime you need to. Here's how.

Note: If you haven’t yet, download the QuickBooks Online mobile app for iOS or Android before you continue. Otherwise, proceed to the next steps based on which mobile operating system you use:

Create a quote

Here's how you can create a quote manually.

For iOS

  1. Open the QuickBooks Online mobile app.
  2. Tap +, then tap A mobile phone with numbers and numbers on it. Quote.
  3. Tap + Add customer, then find and tap the customer you want to send the quote to.
  4. Tap + Add product or service, then find and tap the product or service you want to create a quote for. Then, tap Add.
    Tip: You can also tap + Add another product or service if you need to add more.
  5. (Optional) Tap + next to attachments, message, or any other details you want to add to the quote.
    Tip: You can also tap More for more actions you can take, like convert your quote to an invoice.
  6. Tap Review and send. This takes you to the Preview and send page.
  7. Tap Send via email. Review and edit the body of the email as needed.
    Note: Tap A computerised image of a green and black scissors. Preview if you want to make changes to your quote’s appearance. Just tap Customise icon.. You can also edit your company info when you tap A black and white image of a public bathroom..
  8. Tap Close to go back to the Preview and send page, then tap Send.

For Android

  1. Open the QuickBooks Online mobile app.
  2. Tap +, then tap A mobile phone with numbers and numbers on it. Quote.
  3. Tap + Add customer, then find and tap the customer you want to send the quote to.
  4. Tap + Add product or service, then find and tap the product or service you want to create a quote for. Then, tap Add.
    Tip: You can also tap + Add another product or service if you need to add more.
  5. (Optional) Tap + next to attachments, message, or any other details you want to add to the quote.
    Tip: You can also tap More for more actions you can take, like convert your quote to an invoice.
  6. Tap Review and send. This takes you to the Preview and send page.
  7. Tap Download to review and save a copy of the quote on your device. You can also tap Share if you want other sharing options.
  8. Tap Send via email. Review and edit the body of the email as needed. You can also tap Quote preview to view and download a PDF copy of your quote.
  9. Tap Send to send the quote.

Use Intuit Assist to create a quote

Here's how you can use Intuit Assist to create a quote.

Note: This feature is only available if you have QuickBooks Online Advanced.

  1. Open the QuickBooks Online mobile app.
  2. Tap +, then tap A mobile phone with numbers and numbers on it. Quote. Then, tap Autofill.
  3. Tap Image of the camera icon. Image if you want to use an image or Image Alt Text Voice to add details to the quote:
    • Image: This opens your camera. You can either take a photo of the quote or upload it from your device’s gallery when you tap A black and white photo of a digital clock. Gallery.
      • Take a photo of the quote:
        1. Make sure you keep the entire document in the frame.
          Note: The app automatically takes a photo of the quote. You can also take a photo of it manually when you tap the capture button.
        2. (Optional) Tap Image of the camera icon. if you need to retake the photo, redo icon to rotate it, or Image Alt Text to crop it.
        3. Tap Use this photo. This uploads the quote.
      • Upload a photo of the quote:
        1. Tap A black and white photo of a digital clock. Gallery.
        2. Find and tap the photo of your quote.
        3. Tap and drag the corners of the frame to crop the photo. Make sure all details of the quote are included.
        4. Tap Crop, then tap Use this photo. This uploads the quote.
    • Voice: Tap Image Alt Text Voice to start recording the details you want to add to the quote.
  4. Review the generated details. Tap Add recommended to add a new customer or tap Select existing customer. Then, tap Continue.
  5. Review the generated details. Tap Add recommended to add a new product or tap Select existing product. Then, tap Continue.
    Tip: You can also tap + Add another product or service if you need to add more.
  6. (Optional) Tap + next to attachments, message, or any other details you want to add to the quote.
    Tip: You can also tap More for more actions you can take, like convert your quote to an invoice.
  7. Tap Review and send. This takes you to the Preview and send page.
  8. Tap Send via email, review the details and edit as needed. Then, tap Send.

        3. Tap Next. This uploads the quote.

        1. Tap A black and white photo of a digital clock. Gallery.
        2. Find and tap the photo of the quote you want to upload.
