Add and manage your accounting team in QuickBooks Online Accountant

Learn how to add and edit user info for your accounting firm.
Make sure everyone at your firm can access QuickBooks. Here’s how to add and update info for your team.
- Add a new team member

Add a new team member
- Sign in to QuickBooks Online Accountant as an admin, or a user with full access permissions.

- Select Add user.
- Enter your team member's full name and email address.
- From the Assign roles section, select the Select a role ▼ dropdown to select a default or custom role.
- (Optional) To grant or deny more granular access to firm features,
- Select View all permissions.
- Under Add additional permissions, select a permission category to expand it, then tick or untick a permission, as needed.
- From the Edit client access section, select the checkbox next to client names.
Note: Not all roles are available across clients. Find out more about client access roles. - When you're done, select Send invite.
Edit a team member's info
- Sign in to QuickBooks Online Accountant as an admin, or a user with full access permissions.
- Follow this link to complete the steps in product
- Find the team member and select Edit from the Action column.
- Make any changes you need.
- When you're done, select Save changes.
Update your team's permissions
Does a team member need access to a specific client? Do they need to take on more admin tasks? Follow these steps to change your team's access permissions.
Review your team's QuickBooks certifications
- Follow this link to complete the steps in product
- Select the Certifications tab.
- Review your team's certifications.
If the status is Inactive, your team member needs to renew their certification.
Remove a team member
- Sign in to QuickBooks Online Accountant as an admin, or a user with full access permissions.
- Follow this link to complete the steps in product
- Find the user you want to delete, then select the ▼ dropdown from the Action column.
- Select Delete.
- Select Delete user to confirm.
