I'm glad to assist you today in creating a backup for your company file in QuickBooks Desktop App.

 

There are two ways in creating a backup file. First is within the app. Here's how:

 

  1. Open the QuickBooks Desktop app and log in to your company file.
  2. Go to the File menu and select Backup Company.
  3. Choose Create Local Backup.
  4. In the Create Backup window, select Local Backup window, select Local Backup and click Next.
  5. Choose a location to save the backup file. You can save it on your computer, an external hard drive, or a cloud storage service.
  6. Hit Save then click on Next.
  7. In the Save Backup Copy window, choose a file name and click Save.
  8. Review the options on the next screen to make sure they are set up correctly, then click Next.
  9. In the final screen, review your backup and click Save Backup.
  10. QuickBooks will create a backup of your company file and save it to the location you specified.
