I understand why you felt that way, cachance. And, I appreciate you reaching out to us regarding your payroll data.

Let me help you upload the IIF files to QuickBooks Online (QBO). Please know that users using the standalone payroll (Core, Premium, Elite payroll) can export payroll transactions directly to QBO.

When migrating data from the Desktop payroll account, you'll get a prompt to sign in and select the company you want to export the details to. For more information about the process, please visit this link: Export your payroll data into QuickBooks.

As suggested in this thread, you can also use a third-party app. We can't suggest which one to use use to bring over data. However, you can visit our Intuit Apps section to search for applications that integrate with QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks account.
  2. On left navigation bar, click Apps.
  3. Use the search field to find apps (enter a keyword like "IIF").

Also, I've attached an article you can use to learn more about the type of data you can import directly into QuickBooks: Common questions about importing data to QuickBooks Online.

Please don't hesitate to leave a comment below if you have additional questions about importing data or managing payroll. I'm always glad to answer them for you. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
