Should I change my payroll plan over from Pay Suite to QuickBooks online before the tax year end or after?

I would have thought starting a new payroll scheme would have been better at the start of a new tax year, but my QuickBooks is saying "Make the switch before the end of the tax year"
I'm not sure if this is advice or a necessity.
