Employees and payroll
I'd be glad to answer your queries, Kyrsten.
You can divide an employee's paycheck between two separate checks in QuickBooks Online. You can pay your employee by creating an unscheduled payroll for the other check (the 15%). While 85% will be on the regular pay date. Here's how:
- Go to the Payroll menu, then select Employees.
- Click the ▼ dropdown, and click one of the following options: Bonus only, Commission only, or Fringe benefits only.
- Choose As net pay or As gross pay.
- Enter any info about taxes or paycheck calculations (if applicable).
- Select or review the QuickBooks bank account to track your payroll, the pay period, and the pay date.
- Click the employees you'd like to pay.
- Enter hours, compensation, memos, or any other paycheck info as necessary.
- Select Preview payroll.
- Click Preview payroll details, Save for later or Submit payroll.
- Confirm the amounts and payment methods and select Finish Payroll.
