Hi there, @Alaska_VGC. I'd be glad to answer your questions about setting up union contributions in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
Yes, there is a maximum of 10,000 entries for payroll items. On the other hand, you'll need a separate payroll items to be use on paycheck. Since QuickBooks will base on the set up payroll item. To set up company contribution item.
Here's how:
- Go to the Lists menu, then choose Payroll Item List.
- Click the Payroll Item dropdown, then New.
- Select Custom Setup, then Next.
- Choose Company Contribution, then hit Next.
- Type in the name of the item and select Next.
- Follow the onscreen steps based on your needs.
- Under the Calculate based on quantity window, select the Calculate this item based on hours. Click Next.
- Leave the Default rate and limit fields blank. You can add the rate and limit when you add the item to the employee profile.
- Hit Finish.
Then, add the item to the employee profile. Please follow the steps below:
- Select the Employees menu, then choose Employee Center.
- On the left side, select Payroll. Select Start Unscheduled Payroll.
- Double-click the employee in question to see the employee details.
- Under the Payroll Items, choose the Item name.
- You can see that the quantity is based on hours.
- Fill out the other fields needed, then hit Save and Close.
Furthermore, you have to reduce two different checks each paycheck for individuals who worked on both new and old projects.
