How can I troubleshoot why a contractor's email won't allow direct deposit when I am using the exact email he is set up with?

He receives the request to setup direct deposit, follows the login prompts, and receives an error message on the login screen that he should use another email - no other explanation.

To determine if it is a browser-related issue, we can open the request to set up a direct deposit in a private window. Using an incognito will prevent your browsing history from being saved. 

 

You can use either of these shortcut keys:

 

  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Internet Explorer: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift +N

 

If it works fine from there, switch back to your regular browser and clear its cache. If the issue persists, you can use other supported browsers to narrow down the cause.
